KELP MEAL
A very important enriched natural marine algae ( Ascophyllum nodosum). Harvested in its live state, dehydrated to a specific moisture content by sun-drying and/or mechanical dehydration. It is then ground to specific particle sizes. Greenish- brown to greyish-brown with a characteristic odor. Kelp meal is very rich in minerals, trace metals, amino acids and carbohydrates. Normally used in a food mix at 2% of total feed for fish and 2 to 10% for shrimp and prawns. Shown to increase weight and reduce susceptibility to disease. Size #200 mesh (<90 µ±) which is a flour consistency.
